Description

Having trained and worked as a professional musician, more recently Alison followed a lifelong ambition and attended art lessons, having been unable to follow both disciplines at school. She was fortunate in her teacher, the late Tony Smith of London, who was an inspirational and innovative influence, encouraging his pupils to experiment both in style and media. Alison has also had considerable instruction in the use of watercolor but intends now to concentrate on abstract form. She paints with a group who adheres to the teachings of their late teacher and is inspired to paint in a manor house in Oxfordshire, U.K. which is believed to have belonged to St Philibert in 1208 and later Richard the Second of England. (He is thought to have given it to his mistress!)The colors and forms Alison uses are influenced by these very English historic surroundings.
